RACE DESCRIPTION

A strong introductory mountain running race, with a distance of 6.5 km and 300 meters of positive and negative elevation gain. The name of the race, “Kolisavra Run“, was given due to the relationship of this small reptile with its bigger racing sibling, the “Krokodilos Trail”, in order to give you an intense taste of it. Additionally, the race unfolds over a rugged terrain that constitutes the habitat of this small endemic reptile of Crete, the Kolisavra.

Additionally, the race unfolds over a rugged terrain that constitutes the habitat of this small endemic reptile of Crete, the Kolisavra. It is an “Out-and-Back” type of race, which starts and finishes at exactly the same point (Skala location, eastern beach of Paleochora), with a turnaround point exactly at the halfway mark (3.25 km), and follows the same trail, first ascending and then descending along the same path (blue marking).

Water Station:

The organizers will provide hydration support for the athletes at the 3.25 km mark of the race, at the top of the ascent, at the Vigles location. At this point, water, orange juice (BIOCHYM type), CocaCola, and salt will be available.

All participants will receive commemorative medals and gifts. The award ceremony for the winners will take place at the finish line, on the eastern beach of Paleochora (Skala location) on the day of the race, Sunday 30 March 2025 at 13:00 pm.
