Race Regulations
Athletes are required to fully comply with the regulations outlined below. They are also obliged to follow the instructions of the organizing Club. Failure to comply with the regulations or the organizers’ instructions will result in disqualification. Race officials will record any violations they observe and inform the athletes involved. Any other authorized person by the organization may also report violations they witness and submit them for review to the Race Committee.
Participation Requirements:
Athletes must be at least 18 years old on the day of the race. Participation is at their own responsibility, and they must have undergone appropriate medical examinations.
Registration & Participation Fee:
The participation fee for the race is 15 euros. A registration is only considered valid if the fee has been paid either to the Club’s bank account or via credit/debit card. The registration deadline is 26/03/2025.
Equipment:
The race route includes all the features of a mountain running course, making use of the area’s natural terrain. Due to the nature of such a race, we strongly recommend the following mandatory equipment to ensure your safety and efficient movement along the route.
Shoes: Mountain running takes place on rough and rocky terrain, so it is important to wear trail running shoes with enhanced grip and resistance to twisting.
Technical shirt, shorts, and hat: These wick away sweat, keep you as dry and cool as possible, and provide a degree of protection from branches and small thorns along narrow sections of the route.
Signage:
The signage will be particularly dense, with extra emphasis at intersections. There will be permanent blue paint markings, directional signs, and course tape. If an athlete notices a lack of regular markers, they are considered off-route and must return or immediately request assistance.
Terms of Participation:
By participating in the race, athletes confirm they have thoroughly read the full race announcement, are aware of the nature of the course, the equipment required, etc.
Disclaimer:
The Paleochora Runners Club “Paleochora Trail Running Team” (hereafter referred to as the “Club”) is not liable for death, injury, or any damage to the health of participants. By submitting a registration form, athletes declare that they are aware of the risks inherent to the mountain environment and confirm that their health condition allows them to participate; they also confirm they have recently undergone a medical check-up. However, no athlete will be required to submit a medical certificate. Athletes are responsible for undergoing regular preventive medical examinations to monitor their health status.
The Club reserves the right to disqualify any athlete and prevent them from continuing the race if an authorized medical professional provides a relevant diagnosis during the event. The Club also disclaims any responsibility regarding the physical safety of participants, who must behave responsibly in parts of the course where the risk of serious or fatal falls is increased. The Club disclaims any financial responsibility in the case of external assistance provided to any athlete.
Liability Waiver:
I participate in the “Kolisavra Run” entirely at my own responsibility, having undergone the necessary medical examinations certifying that I am healthy and fit for athletic activity. I waive any claims for compensation against the organizer for any damage that may occur during the race, and I consent to the unrestricted use of my name and image related to the race by mass media and social networks.
